The RediSite Announcement Manager can display an announcement feed from the following sources:

  • PlusPortals: Public announcements from your School Announcements page in PlusPortals.
  • RediSite: Announcements from another RediSite (district setup).

PlusPortals Announcement Feed

In most cases, the PlusPortals Announcement Feed is set up during the development of your RediSite. If your PlusPortals Feed hasn't been set up, contact RediSite support.

This feature allows you to single-source your school announcements. The incoming announcement from your PlusPortals includes the title, description, start and end dates, attachments, and link text.

Important: Announcements that you want included in the feed from PlusPortals must have Show on Login Page (Public) selected to appear on your RediSite. For more information on PlusPortals Announcements, see Create an Announcement, Notification, or Alert in the PlusPortals Manager guide.
Note: Feeds are one-way. If you need to edit an announcement (or an event) from the PlusPortals, it must be edited in the PlusPortals. However, once an announcement is in your RediSite, you can configure Announcement Details that are not available in the PlusPortals, like Announcement Links to, Icon, and more.

RediSite Announcement Feed

In most cases, the RediSite Announcement Feed is set up during the development of your RediSite. If your RediSite Feed hasn't been set up, contact RediSite support.

This feature was designed for school districts. A district RediSite can act as a feed for the RediSites of schools within the district.

Example

When you pair this feed with both the Alert Announcement and Category settings, you can send general announcements, like school closings, to the district or targeted announcements to specific schools.

If you have a Category for each school in the district, and these categories are set the same way on each site, then the district site can create High School only announcements or Lower School only announcements.

In addition, the district site can push out an Alert Announcement from the district level that appears at the top of all sites.
