Create announcement categories to filter your announcements lists. When creating an Announcement List block, you can filter by categories to determine which announcements are included in each individual list block.

Example

If you have an Athletics category, you can filter the Announcement List block that you add to the athletics page of your RediSite to include only announcements in the Athletics category. In addition, you can assign more than one category to an announcement. If an announcement is categorized as both Athletics and Admissions, it will be visible in the Announcement List block that you add to both pages.

To create an Announcement Category in the Announcement Manager, do the following:

  1. On the right side of the toolbar, click  .

  2. In the Dashboard, click Announcement Manager.

    The Announcements page opens.

  3. In the Dashboard, under Announcement Manager, click Categories.
  4. On the Categories page, click Create Category.

  5. On the Create Category page, configure the category Name, Handle, and Color.

    Note: The category  Handle  is an optional field.
